Safeguarding and Do No Harm Policies

At Machab Youth Project, the safety and well-being of the young people we serve are of utmost importance. We are dedicated to creating an environment that fosters trust, respect, and protection for all beneficiaries, staff members, volunteers, and stakeholders. To uphold these principles, we have implemented robust Safeguarding and Do No Harm policies that guide our operations and interactions.

  1. Safeguarding Policy: We are committed to safeguarding children, young adults, and vulnerable individuals from all forms of harm, abuse, exploitation, and neglect. Our Safeguarding Policy outlines stringent procedures for preventing and responding to any safeguarding concerns that may arise within our organization or in the communities we serve. This policy ensures that all staff members, volunteers, and partners are aware of their roles and responsibilities in protecting the rights and dignity of the youth we work with.
  2. Do No Harm Policy: Our Do No Harm Policy embodies our commitment to conducting interventions that do not inadvertently cause harm to individuals or communities. We strive to be mindful of potential negative consequences of our programs and work collaboratively with beneficiaries and stakeholders to mitigate any unintended adverse effects. This policy emphasizes the importance of taking an ethical
and empathetic approach to development, focusing on sustainable, inclusive, and community-driven solutions.
  3. Code of Conduct: To uphold our commitment to safeguarding and ensuring a safe environment, we have established a comprehensive Code of Conduct for all members of the Machab Youth Project community. This code outlines expected behaviors, ethical standards, and the prohibition of any form of harassment, discrimination, or abuse. We encourage an open and supportive atmosphere, where everyone feels comfortable reporting any concerns they may have.
  4. Training and Capacity Building: We invest in regular training and capacity building for our staff members, volunteers, and partners to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to implement the Safeguarding and Do No Harm policies effectively. This training covers identifying signs of abuse, understanding power dynamics, and fostering a culture of respect and dignity.
